Wow... have you ever had one of those morning where everything seems to be working against you? I had one hour to run errands before I needed to head home to prepare for a phone conference. On the "to-do" list were the pharmacy, my mom's house, and the library. Well (BIG SIGH) the pharmacy lost my prescription, it took literally 20 minutes to get through the security line at the back gate to my parent's subdivision, and I forgot half the things I needed to return to the library! The icing on the cake was when it started raining on me. It felt like the skies decided to open up and pee on my day... I am ashamed to admit what I did next. I called GF Guy and started crying. I think all the stress of the last few days finally got to me. It felt so good to let it out, take a deep breath, and start afresh. The rest of the day wasn't perfect,
(for example, I baked GF Guy Vegan Banana Bread as a special treat and completely botched it!), but it didn't really bother me. Sometimes having a good cry is all you need! :-)
Breakfast #1 was eaten before running my errands.
(or attempting to) I ate the last of the
Greek Yogurt with Blackberries.

A few hours later I hit up a small bowl of
Whole O's.

I don't normally buy specialty Gluten Free cereals because they are
so expensive. Whole O's were on sale at work this week for $2.49! A-MAZING right?!
Lunch, was inhaled after scrubbing the kitchen from top to bottom. It was a
repeat of yesterday's lunch,

plus some un-pictured
watermelon. I also had a few snacks before work, but didn't photograph them.
For dinner I sauteed the last of our
kale and spinach with half an onion and 2 garlic cloves in a bit of vegetable stock, steamed the last of the broccoli, cut up the last tomato and pulled out the leftover Chicken and Yellow Rice from Tita's house on Sunday.

The best thing about going out of town is the excuse to eat all the fruit and veggies in the frige! :-D
GF Guy tried one of the Monster-sicles we made Sunday.

He LOVED it! SUCCESS!!!! He was so wonderful all day helping me with my errands and calming me down when I started having a nervous breakdown. I don't know what I would do without him. He is the love of my life. (Sorry to be a sap, but it had to be said!)
I received something super cool in the mail today...

Vanessa Farquharson, an awesome chica from Canada, sent me her new book,
Sleeping Naked Is Green, to read and review for you, my dear readers! I can not wait to dive into this new and intriguing read!
Tomorrow we leave for my best friend from high school's wedding. We will be gone the 1st to the 4th. I don't know if I will be able to blog, but I will do my best. Also, I lost my camera battery charger!!!!! NOOOO!!!! I don't know what I am going to do! Maybe I can commandeer GF Guy's huge camera for a bit. I hope you all of fun and exciting things planned for this Saturday, the Fourth of July! Be happy, healthy, and safe!

Whole-O's are my favourite!! (I think we discussed this in comments a couple weeks ago) I like them sprinkled with some cinnamon and a bit of agave with almond milk.
ReplyDeleteSleeping Green is Naked is just amazing!!! Enjoy your trip my dear :)
I'm pretty sure I just wrote Sleeping Green is Naked.. it's a holiday in Canada and clearly I'm still sleepy!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your bad day. I hope things are clearing up this week (life-wise and weather-wise).
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed that you make the best of your leftovers, even when they aren't the most tasty option! Good for you.
Take care.
